This GIS layer consists of points representing locations of the offices and field laboratories of Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission's Fish and Wildlife Research Institute (FWRI). Some of the offices also include personnel from other divisions within FWC.
Purpose:
This data set was created to provide a visual representation of FWRI location information effective with the July 1, 2004 reorganization of the FWC.
Supplemental_Information:
Prior to July 1, 2004, the Fish and Wildlife Research Institute (FWRI) was known as the Florida Marine Research Institute (FMRI). The institute name has not been changed in historical data sets or references to work completed by the Florida Marine Research Institute. The institute name has been changed in references to ongoing research, new research, and contact information.
