Abstract:
These data were created because the Fish Biology group of FMRI needed to obtain a GIS data set that referred to distance up the St. Johns River. The centerline data set was created in the order to generate the distance markers data set.
Purpose:
This data set is for centerline reference only. The data extent is between an arbitrarily selected mouth and head of the St. Johns River.
Supplemental_Information:
Prior to July 1, 2004, the Fish and Wildlife Research Institute (FWRI) was known as the Florida Marine Research Institute (FMRI). The institute name has not been changed in historical data sets or references to work completed by the Florida Marine Research Institute. The institute name has been changed in references to ongoing research, new research, and contact information. This centerline was created from the 1989 Florida major rivers data set.
