Description:

Abstract:: This GIS data set represents Regional Planning Council (RPC) boundaries, with attributes to also describe counties. These data were an arc coverage then merged with a Florida shoreline at a 1:100,000 scale to create a polygon coverage. The data were edited in 2008 to move Marion County to the correct RPC, and to create one multipart polygon per county.
Purpose: For display and reference purposes.
Supplemental_Information:: Prior to July 1, 2004, the Fish and Wildlife Research Institute (FWRI) was known as the Florida Marine Research Institute (FMRI). The institute name has not been changed in historical data sets or references to work completed by the Florida Marine Research Institute. The institute name has been changed in references to ongoing research, new research, and contact information.

TBRPC provided council boundaries. FWRI added the 1:100,000 scale shoreline to create a polygon coverage of the RPC. Coverage originated from TBRPC with arc topology. Coverage mapjoined in ArcInfo with a Florida shoreline at a 1:100,000 scale to generate polygon topology. This process occurred in 1999 or prior.
