The Florida Oceans and Coastal Council, formerly the Florida Oceans and Coastal Resources Council was charged in The Oceans and Coastal Resources Act,
§161.70, et seq., Florida Statutes, with creation of a Resource Assessment, "a comprehensive oceans and coastal resource assessment that shall serve
as a baseline of information to be used in assisting in its research plan.
Coastal and Marine Resources Assessment System
The purpose of this map-based application is to provide a way to view the following types of information: patterns of use of oceans and coastal
resources; natural resource features, such as habitat, bathymetry and surficial geology; location of current and proposed oceans and coastal
research and monitoring infrastructure; coastal observing system; industrial and commercial activities; shipping and recreational transit
patterns; and socioeconomic trends of the state's oceans and coastal resources and oceans and coastal economy. This application is a prototype
to display these types of information as geospatial entities.
The purpose of the Florida Oceans and Coastal Council's (FOCC) Research Review is to provide users a way to access information describing data and research projects occurring within the state of Florida's coastal and ocean areas.
