Abstract:
The Aggregated CLIP High Priority (P1,P2) layer depicts resources identified as priority 1 or 2 in both terrestrial and submerged land/state waters. The layer includes P1,P2 levels depicting conservation significance for protecting biodiversity, landscape attributes, and high quality surface water resources at the statewide scale. The designation of high priority is based on rules-based selection from each of the 9 core data layers within the Biodiversity, Surface Water, and Landscape Resource Categories and overlap between the Biodiversity, Surface Water, and Landscape Resource Categories.
Purpose:
The Aggregated CLIP High Priority layer is intended to be used as one of several decision support tools for informing the work of the Century Commission and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission Cooperative Conservation Blueprint, and it may also be suitable as a resource planning guide for various state, regional, and local entities interested in effective natural resource protection and management. While other planning efforts have focused on particular resources, whereas CLIP is intended to provide a broad synthesis of natural resource GIS data to support comprehensive identification of statewide conservation opportunities.
Supplemental_Information:
Although all priority levels have significance, based on the TAG process the most important priorities are CLIP Priority 1 and CLIP Priority 2. Therefore, this layer is an aggregated representation of what the TAG considers the high priority resource areas in both terrestrial and submerged lands.

1) These data were created using input data consistent with 24,000 to 1:100,000 map scale resolution.  Such data are of sufficient resolution for state and regional scale conservation planning.  They are not appropriate for use in high accuracy mapping applications such as property parcel boundaries, local government comprehensive plans, zoning, DRI, site plans, environmental resource or other agency permitting, wetland  delineations, or other uses requiring more specific and ground survey quality data.

2) The analysis, maps and data on this website were developed for state and regional conservation planning purposes and are not intended, nor sufficient, to be the basis for local government comprehensive plans, environmental resource or agency permitting decisions.
